I will avoid any retailer that uses YODEL, and this is why…

Ordered from ebuyer on Friday and paid extra for Saturday delivery. No problems there as ebuyer had despatched by 4pm.

On the day of delivery my package was still out for delivery with 35 deliveries before mine at 1pm. Come 3pm and still no delivery so I check again…

Sorry we missed you?!? And they’d left a card… somewhere, because I couldn’t find it. Apparently they’d attempted delivery at 1:30pm so that means they made 35 deliveries in 30 minutes… seems unlikely.

Contacted WebChat only to be told that they’d try again on Monday… when I’d be out all day at work. Apparently I could change the delivery address to my workplace but I can’t find anywhere to do this on the website. I can’t select next Saturday for redelivery either. My options are to chance delivery during the week in the hope they turn up after 5pm or drive more than one hour away to the depot in Reading to collect it.

Why does Yodel even exist as a business if they can’t do what their customers pay them to do? It’s really not difficult – DPD, AmazonLogistics, UPS, FedEx, etc all manage just fine. I paid £12 for Saturday delivery, £12 bloody quid!

Suffice to say it’s just easier to avoid every retailer that uses Yodel as a courier and hopefully they’ll go out of business sooner or later.

The Yodel delivery driver didn’t fancy ringing the doorbell a second time so instead lobbed my 16kg, 1.2m long parcel over the garden fence. Had someone (human or Chelonian) been the other side it could have been nasty.

If ever you get to choose which courier you use, never use Yodel, they are scum.

I have a huge sign on my front door advising delivery drivers to leave my items in the greenhouse right behind them, because I am a single person that is out at work all day, all other delivery companies comply, but not Yodel, every time I am not available they take the item back to their depot, it’s driving me nuts, currently I’m waiting for an item that could have been leftdelivered 3 days ago!

I had a parcel delivered no more than 2 hours ago.

When I looked out of the window the delivery driver was urinating up the back of my rabbit hutch from the other side of the fence.

I talked to someone on their live chat but not a single apology.

I have had problems with Yodel many times. The most recent … item not delivered, card thru the door saying my neighbour had the parcel and had signed for it, but he had not (I trust my neighbour). Yodel sent me a copy of the signature – was not my neighbour’s! Phoned Yodel back and told them this, and they said “Are you accusing our driver of forgery / theft?”.

Well, yes, I think that is what’s happening. Never did receive that parcel. Other times, parcel put into my bin – found entirely by accident, no card in the door, parcel delivered to wrong address more than once, parcel being shown as “delivered and signed for by resident” on sellers site when it had not been … I could go on!

I used the next day delivery service to London and long-story-short four days later my parcel is tracked in the East Midlands. The driver attempted to deliver the package 5 days late but I wasn’t in. Didn’t leave a card I found out through the online tracking portal. The next day I stayed home to wait for the parcel and it didn’t come, apparently they “couldn’t access the property” so the driver didn’t even try to deliver it. I used the web chat service online to hopefully get some answers as to why they are incompetent at delivery packages but all the woman could do is schedule it for another delivery the next day. It is midday the next day and my parcel still hasn’t left their depot.

I gave in and rang them (even though they charge 7p or 1p per minute depending on which service number you call). I was greeted by an automated service who takes your tracking number and basically tells you the exact same thing as looking at your tracking number online and then it hangs up on you without asking if there is anything else you needed help with. I called back and demanded on speak with a representative which took a long time for the automated service to register. I then proceeded to hold for 8 minutes waiting for a human. I could barely hear what the representative was saying because they were celebrating someone’s birthday in the background. So unprofessional. Again, the representative could only tell me what doing it myself does. When I asked roughly when it would arrive she “does not have that information” and what happens next because they lost my parcel and it is late she said I would “have to call back and then we will call the depot”.

From what I have learned from this atrocious service is that their customer service should be directed to the depot or even the driver handling your package because everyone else is absolutely useless. It has now been 8 days since my parcel was supposed to be delivered, the customer service centre is impossible and I will never use this service again. I’d say they are the worst in the business but they aren’t in the courier business; they operate on taking money and maybe you’ll receive your parcel because they can’t promise that you will. An absolute sh*t show.

Delivery due today, online tracker says today, been waiting in since 7am. Keep checling the tracker – depot received before 6am, but not picked up by the courier yet. Gets to 4pm and query whether that’s normal on webchat (because customer service phone line closes at 1pm on a Sat!).

They inform me they’ve changed the delivery to Monday, due to a ‘delay’. For 1, what delay as it’s supposedly at the depot since early morning, which is less than an hour away. 2, it was nice of them to let me know, oh wait, they didn’t.

And 3, their online tracker STILL shows delivery today. And no ability to complain, and evem webchat is closed for the day now. Useless

Waiting in all day for no delivery

I ordered a new battery for my car yesterday and now found out that you are supposed to deliver it, however you collected it yesterday and was at the local depot this morning at 09:20 but you are not going to deliver it until tomorrow,

I have been waiting for this all day.

Rubbish service, I will inform the supplier and choose one that doe not use Yodel in future.

I orderd a collection on 6 Sept, stayed at home for whole day, nothing happened, phoned them next morning, they promised to collect but nothing happened. In the evening I phoned again and spoke to a manager Lucinda who promised to refund and to cancell my order, but didn’t. On 8 Sept I recieved a text message saying that they would collect today.(again). Managed to get another promise of refund through a live chat, no compensation. Also, they said that they don’t guarantee anything. Will never use them again.

ME: The manager said that she cancelled my order for a refund. Are you saying that she lied?

YODEL dumped parcel in my food waste bin

Yodel delivered 2 items to me today, and decided in their infinite wisdom to put them in my food waste bin that was 3/4 full of waste food!
